Chennai: A 24-year-old man was arrested by Virugambakkam police for stalking, harassing, and threatening a 24-year-old woman after she ended their friendship. The complainant lived in a rented house in Virugambakkam. A few months ago, she became acquainted with Arjun, a resident of Perumbakkam, through social media. According to the police, the woman later stopped communicating with Arjun because of his behaviour. Angered by this, Arjun repeatedly went to her residence and harassed her. He also contacted and threatened her parents, demanding that she marry him. He threatened that he would end his life if she refused the marriage proposal. Following this, the woman lodged a complaint with the Virugambakkam police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and Arjun was arrested.
