New Delhi, The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Jamia Millia Islamia has also introduced 11 new certificate and diploma programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, taking its total academic offerings to 60 programmes.
The centre has also extended the deadline for applications for admission to all its programmes to September 8, the university said.
The earlier deadline for submitting applications was August 10.
The newly introduced courses include certificate programmes in French, Spanish, Chinese, Persian, Arabic and Russian, besides courses in photography and video editing, anchoring and broadcast presentation, and Indian Knowledge Systems.
The new offerings also include a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media and an Advanced Diploma in Conflict Analysis and Peace Building, the university said.
The expansion is aimed at widening access to distance and online education and providing learners with academic, language and practical skills, it said.
JMI Vice-Chancellor Mazhar Asif and Registrar Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi welcomed the addition of the new programmes and emphasised the need to expand academic opportunities through relevant and skill-oriented courses.
The extension of the application deadline was recommended by CDOE Director Aslam Khan following requests from applicants, the university said.
The entrance test for the BEd and MBA (ODL) programmes has also been rescheduled to September 19 from August 22. The examination centre for both programmes will be on the JMI campus and details will be mentioned on the admit cards.
Candidates shortlisted for admission will be informed through their registered email about the schedule for physical document verification.
Document verification and fee submission will be conducted from September 26 to October 6, while the last date for completing admission formalities is October 10, the university said. PTI
