Vadodara: Torrential rain lashed Lunawada, Kothamba and Balasinor talukas of Mahisagar district on Tuesday, leaving many villages flooded. Around 25 people were rescued by fire brigade personnel from Suva village and taken to safety.District authorities said around 100 people, who were visiting an ayurveda practitioner in Suva village, got marooned in floodwaters. All of them are safe, the authorities added. The local administration is monitoring the situation and carrying out relief measures.Panchmahal district also got heavy rain on Tuesday, leaving villages in some talukas inundated. Shehra taluka received around two-and-half-inches of rain in two hours. The authorities said all the roads leading to Panam Dam have been closed as the water level in the dam is rising rapidly.
