Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday granted interim protection from coercive police action to Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee in three criminal proceedings pending against him.
Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya was hearing Banerjee’s plea seeking quashing of three FIRs registered against him. The court fixed August 25 for passing its final order on Banerjee’s petition seeking quashing of the three FIRs.
On a prayer by Banerjee’s lawyer, the court directed the police to supply copies of all FIRs registered against the Diamond Harbour MP.
