Pune: Kothrud police registered a case of wrongful restraint against a 35-year-old SUV owner for bursting firecrackers in the middle of the road in Gopinathnagar at around 12.30am on Sunday.Senior inspector Arun Ghodke said, “The SUV owner, a software engineer, was celebrating his son’s first birthday. He drove the SUV out of his society with his family members and parked it in the middle of the road. The family started bursting firecrackers to celebrate the baby’s birthday. He blocked the road and disturbed the peace in the area.”“Local residents called the police control room, following which we reached the spot and asked him to remove the SUV and to stop bursting firecrackers. An FIR was registered against him and a notice was served,” he added.
