Srinagar, Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a major boost in the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana with the details revealing that twin districts including Kupwara and Srinagar have topped in the number of applications received and rooftop solar installations respectively.
According to the details, accessed by Rising Kashmir, a total of 40,467 solar rooftops have been installed across the region so far out of the total 87,780 applications received, covering a total of 40,615 households across the Union Territory.
Kupwara, a district in north Kashmir, topped the list with 11,352 applications followed by Srinagar with 10,573 applications, the data reveals.
Similarly, Srinagar district has topped the list with 6,700 rooftop solar installations followed by Jammu with 5,766 installations.
According to the details, Rs 307.63 crore has been released as subsidy so far across 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir while the cumulative installed capacity has reached 144.9 MW.
District-wise data shows that Anantnag recorded 5,194 applications and 2,634 rooftop solar installations covering 2,634 households, with an installed capacity of 9.12 MW and Rs 2,069.86 lakh released so far.
Bandipora received 2,503 applications and completed 1,023 installations covering 1,023 households, with 3.50 MW capacity and Rs 827.92 lakh released. Baramulla recorded 6,342 applications and 2,616 installations covering 2,616 households, with 9.18 MW capacity and Rs 1,944.15 lakh released. Budgam received 5,021 applications and completed 2,186 installations covering 2,186 households, with 8.01 MW capacity and Rs 1,697.81 lakh released.
Doda recorded 2,804 applications and 1,539 installations covering 1,683 households, with 5.10 MW capacity and Rs 1,116.45 lakh released. Ganderbal received 2,539 applications and completed 1,070 installations covering 1,070 households, with 3.82 MW capacity and Rs 833.98 lakh released. Jammu recorded 8,991 applications and 5,766 installations covering 5,766 households, with 21.51 MW capacity and Rs 4,334.60 lakh released. Kathua received 3,577 applications and completed 2,440 installations covering 2,440 households, with 8.55 MW capacity and Rs 1,848.72 lakh released.
Kishtwar recorded 1,193 applications and 507 installations covering 507 households, with 1.67 MW capacity and Rs 389.83 lakh released. Kulgam received 2,715 applications and completed 1,110 installations covering 1,110 households, with 3.76 MW capacity and Rs 859.07 lakh released. Kupwara recorded 11,352 applications and 4,029 installations covering 4,029 households, with 12.79 MW capacity and Rs 2,938.07 lakh released. Poonch received 1,116 applications and completed 430 installations covering 434 households, with 1.30 MW capacity and Rs 301.19 lakh released.
Pulwama recorded 4,041 applications and 2,116 installations covering 2,116 households, with 7.58 MW capacity and Rs 1,598.77 lakh released. Rajouri received 2,220 applications and completed 1,103 installations covering 1,103 households, with 3.79 MW capacity and Rs 845.88 lakh released. Ramban recorded 1,357 applications and 583 installations covering 583 households, with 1.91 MW capacity and Rs 439.72 lakh released. Reasi received 1,435 applications and completed 569 installations covering 569 households, with 1.86 MW capacity and Rs 419.72 lakh released.
Samba recorded 3,046 applications and 1,258 installations covering 1,258 households, with 4.33 MW capacity and Rs 954.75 lakh released. Shopian received 8,186 applications and completed 1,540 installations covering 1,540 households, with 5.24 MW capacity and Rs 1,205.23 lakh released. Srinagar recorded 10,573 applications and 6,700 installations covering 6,700 households, with 27.59 MW capacity and Rs 5,237.52 lakh released. Udhampur received 3,575 applications and completed 1,248 installations covering 1,248 households, with 4.29 MW capacity and Rs 899.35 lakh released.
