Kota : A 34-year-old woman died at JK Lon Hospital, 30 hours after delivering a healthy baby late Saturday night. Deceased’s angry family created ruckus on the hospital premises and accused the staff of medical negligence. The hospital authorities have refuted negligence, claiming the woman was already in the high-risk pregnancy category with high blood pressure and Hepatitis B. The deceased was identified as Gangotri Saini (34), a resident of Kheda Rasoolpura village in Kaithun.The woman, in advanced labour pain and with severe hypertension, arrived at the hospital Saturday afternoon from Kaithun govt hospital and was later diagnosed as Hepatitis B- positive, JK Lon Hospital superintendent Dr Nirmala Sharma said. The woman’s condition started deteriorating after delivery. She was found to have developed disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), leading to multi-site bleeding.Senior doctors stabilised her bleeding and transfused blood that brought the patient to a stable condition for 12–18 hours; however, her condition deteriorated around 5:30 am.Despite immediate resuscitation efforts—including CPR, oxygen support and the intervention of senior residents, physicians and cardiologists—the patient could not be revived, Dr Nirmala said, adding that doctors suspect the sudden death was caused by a pulmonary embolism, where a blood clot travelled to her lungs.
