Hyderabad: A 23-year-old driver died and two others suffered injuries when a bike was hit by a cab at LB Nagar on Monday morning.The deceased was Syed Toufiquddin (23), a driver from Asif Nagar, and the injured is his friend, Syed Ayaan. The accident occurred at 4 am on Monday when the victims were travelling on a bike from Asifnagar towards Auto Nagar in Vanasthalipuram.When they reached Chutney’s hotel close to Ranga Reddy district court’s complex at LB Nagar, a cab driven by the accused, Hemanth, suddenly came onto the highway from the service road to take a right turn at the divider opening.“The bike crashed into the cab’s driver’s-side door. Due to the impact, both the bike rider, Toufiquddin, and the pillion rider, Ayaan, fell on the road. With severe injuries, Toufiquddin died on the spot. Ayaan sustained multiple injuries and he is undergoing treatment at a local hospital in critical condition. The car driver sustained minor injuries,” LB Nagar inspector K Vinod Kumar said.On the complaint of Toufiquddin’s brother Asifuddin, LB Nagar police booked a case under sections 106 (1) (causing death due to negligence) and 125 (a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS against Hemanth. “The accused was not under the influence of alcohol. We have issued a notice to him as per law,” the inspector said.
