RANCHI: JPSC-JSSC aspirants began gathering at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi on Thursday ahead of their planned march to the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, with student leaders appealing to protesters to maintain discipline and ensure that the demonstration remains peaceful.Student leader Ravindra Paswan said students from districts across Jharkhand were reaching Ranchi for the protest and that a large turnout was expected.He said students would begin assembling at the protest site around 9am, with the march to the Vidhan Sabha expected to begin between 10.30am and 11am.“A march to the Vidhan Sabha and a gherao will be conducted in a peaceful and constitutional manner. Students will start gathering there at 9 AM. The march will commence between 10:30 and 11:00 AM, entirely peacefully and constitutionally,” Paswan said.Urging students and members of the public to follow constitutional norms, he said the movement should demonstrate that students were capable of conducting a disciplined protest.“I urge all students and the general public to maintain peace and adhere to constitutional norms. Since we students are leading this movement, we must demonstrate that we are disciplined and educated,” he said.Paswan said around 300-400 volunteers had been assigned to help maintain order during the protest.“We have approximately 300-400 volunteers for today’s protest; they will all help ensure the event proceeds peacefully and constitutionally,” he said.He also expressed concern that anti-social elements could attempt to disrupt the demonstration and appealed to the state police administration to assist in ensuring that the protest remained peaceful.“There is a possibility that anti-social elements might be present. In light of this, I appeal to the state police administration to assist us in ensuring the movement remains peaceful and successful,” Paswan said.He added that volunteers would identify and hand over anyone attempting to create disorder to the authorities.“If we spot any anti-social elements or unruly individuals, we will identify them ourselves and hand them over to the authorities,” he said.Meanwhile, students and aspirants continued to arrive at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium ahead of the planned Vidhan Sabha march.
