Charkhi Dadri: One of the seven people injured after around 30 rounds were fired outside Charkhi Dadri City police station and court complex here on Aug 6 died during treatment, prompting police to add murder charges to the case.Five accused have been arrested, while the three alleged shooters remain absconding.Kirtiman Kajla, a resident of Tokas village in Hisar district, was travelling in a black Mahindra Scorpio with six others when three motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on the vehicle shortly after they left the court premises.Kirtiman suffered bullet injuries to his neck and legs. He was initially treated at a hospital in Rohtak before being shifted to a private hospital in Gurgaon, where he died without regaining consciousness.Police said all seven injured persons were hospitalised and several underwent surgery, with around 20 bullets recovered from their bodies.Charkhi Dadri SP Logesh Kumar P said five accused had been arrested, while the three alleged shooters remained at large. Six special teams have been formed to trace them and raids are being conducted at multiple locations.Police are examining whether the attack was linked to gang rivalry, old enmity, or a land dispute or another criminal motive. Investigators are also examining whether Amit Fatehadiya, who suffered seven bullet injuries and has more than 20 criminal cases registered against him, was the primary target. “The investigation is continuing from all angles, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest every person involved in the conspiracy,” the SP said.
