Ahmedabad: An AMC team from the cattle nuisance department was allegedly attacked and threatened during a drive against stray cattle in Nava Vadaj on Friday afternoon.According to a complaint filed at Vadaj police station by Hiralkumar Dhakiya, an AMC livestock inspector, the team was patrolling the Sabarmati Riverfront area when officials received information about nearly 15 head of cattle roaming on a public road behind the AMC sub-zonal office at Bharwad Vas in Nava Vadaj.The team reached the spot around 3.30pm. Dhakiya alleged that the cattle owners became aggressive and started arguing with civic officials. Three men allegedly confronted him, abused him and pushed him. One of them allegedly hit him on the head from behind.The situation worsened when another man allegedly struck Dhakiya on the back of the head with a stick and threatened to kill him.Dhakiya was moved to safety by fellow AMC employees. The alleged attackers then targeted another member of the civic team.
