Aizawl: Workers of the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) youth wing on Saturday protested outside the chief minister’s office in Aizawl as Lalduhoma returned from Delhi. The MNF has issued an ultimatum to Lalduhoma to publicly apologise by Aug 15 for his recent remarks on the Mizo Peace Accord. The protesters wore pawndum, traditional black shawls, to express anguish over the chief minister’s recent narratives terming the Memorandum of Settlement as a memorandum of understanding between the Union ministry of home affairs and a political party, rather than an agreement encompassing the people of Mizoram. The protesters could not meet Lalduhoma, who travelled directly from Lengpui airport to the assembly secretariat for a meeting.
