Kanpur: An FIR was registered against 10 people, including a YouTuber, on Saturday evening for allegedly attempting to grab a plot in Kanpur’s Hanumant Vihar area, demanding Rs 7 lakh in extortion and assaulting an elderly woman by allegedly tearing her clothes. The case was registered after the woman approached DCP South seeking action.An elderly woman from Arra village told police that her son-in-law, a resident of Etah, owned a plot measuring about 60 square yards in Khadepur.It was alleged that on June 29, Ayush Sahu, his father Ravindra Sahu, Sarita Sahu, Deepak Sahu, Upendra Pratap Singh alias Baba Thakur, YouTuber Gaurav Kushwaha and four others, all residents of the area, reached the plot and started illegal construction.The woman said she reached the spot after receiving the information and got the construction stopped, stating that the plot was in her son-in-law’s name. It was alleged that the accused abused her and demanded Rs 7 lakh in extortion.When she protested, the accused allegedly attacked her with sticks and tore her clothes, the complaint said. When people reached the spot, the accused fled while allegedly threatening to kill her.Hanumant Vihar SHO Rajeev Kumar Singh said, “On the complaint, a case has been registered under relevant charges, including demanding extortion and outraging modesty.”
