Shivamogga: Minister Madhu Bangarappa on Saturday said that he is focusing on the drinking water issue in Shivamogga district, following directions from chief minister DK Shivakumar.Speaking to the media in Shivamogga, he clarified that although portfolio allocation is pending, he has already surveyed several regions including Shivamogga Urban, Rural and Shikaripura, with plans to visit Thirthahalli next week.Addressing concerns regarding drought declarations, he explained that decisions depend on strict NDRF criteria and ongoing evaluations of rainfall deficits, crop loss, power supply and school infrastructure, with a clearer picture expected by the end of August.On the education front, Bangarappa assured that all ongoing initiatives and development projects launched during his previous tenure will continue smoothly, as CM Shivakumar is currently overseeing the education portfolio.Expressing gratitude to the party leadership for reinducting him into the cabinet, Bangarappa said he holds no personal demands for specific portfolios.
