Mysuru: A 42-year-old woman working as a product promoter at a shopping mall in western Mysuru allegedly died by suicide on Friday, leaving behind a note accusing her manager of workplace harassment.Vijayanagar police have registered a case against the manager of a marketing agency under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of suicide.The deceased, Nageshwari of Hinkal, allegedly left a death note stating that her manager, Dolly, who supervised her from Bengaluru, had repeatedly harassed her by pressuring her to accept responsibility for a mistake allegedly committed by someone else. She further alleged that the manager continued to torment her by threatening to replace her and discouraging her from resigning from the job.Nageshwari, who had been working with the agency for the past three years, also claimed in the note that she had not been granted a weekly off since Dolly became her manager and had frequently been denied leave.According to her husband, Nageshwari had been complaining about her manager’s behaviour for the past month. Police said that while he was away from home on Friday, she allegedly consumed a poisonous substance. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later succumbed.Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
