Buxar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated action against protesters who blocked rail traffic on the Howrah-Delhi main line in Buxar on Friday.The RPF has registered an FIR against 33 named and around 150 unidentified persons in connection with the rail blockade.The protest was organised to demand the reopening of the Itadhi railway crossing and repair of the damaged railway overbridge.RPF inspector Kundan Singh said on Saturday that the FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Railway Act. The protesters have been accused of obstructing railway operations, blocking the tracks and disrupting train movement.“The investigation has started. The people involved in the protest will be identified on the basis of videos, photographs and other available evidence,” Singh said.He added that those found to have participated in the blockade would face action as per the law.The rail blockade was organised under a pre-announced programme by the Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti. Local Congress party also supported the protest, which sought the reopening of the Itadhi railway crossing.
