Bhagalpur: Bhagalpur DM Alankrita Pandey inspected primary health centres (PHCs) and other healthcare facilities in Sultanganj on Saturday to review arrangements for pilgrims during the Shrawani Mela. She checked the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, health workers, medicines, emergency services and special facilities for pilgrims.Pandey also reviewed sanitation, drinking water, toilets, waiting areas, stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen supply and other life-saving resources. She directed health workers to remain vigilant throughout the mela and ensure prompt and quality treatment.The medical immediate response team (IRT) was instructed to remain active for emergencies with ambulances, equipment and personnel kept ready at all times.While interacting with pilgrims receiving treatment or seeking consultations, Pandey sought feedback on the facilities and asked officials to ensure they faced no inconvenience.Pandey said the arrival of millions of devotees during the mela increased the responsibility of the health department and district administration to provide prompt and humane healthcare. She warned that negligence would invite strict action.
