Gurugram: Fortis Healthcare reported an increase of 17 per cent year on year (YoY) in consolidated revenue to Rs 2545 crore in the first quarter ended June this year.
Operating ebitda stood at Rs 568 crore, reflecting a rise of 15.8 per cent YoY, while profit after tax was Rs 273 crore, up 2.3% from the previous year.
Revenue from Fortis’ Hospital business amounted to Rs 2187 crore, up 19 per cent YoY. Operating ebitda in the segment rose 15.9 per cent to Rs 471 crore.
The healthcare major said revenue growth in the hospital business was led by a moderate increase in ARPOB and an increase of 16.7 per cent in occupied beds compared to Q1 FY26.
Its diagnostics business reported an increase of 10.2 per cent in revenue to Rs 407 crore, while operating ebitda increased 14.9 per cent to Rs 97 crore.
During the period, the company entered an Operations and Management agreement for a 300-bedded greenfield multi-specialty hospital to be constructed in Cuttack, marking Fortis Healthcare’s entry into Odisha.
Fortis added that it is looking to capitalize on more such opportunities, including those related to operations and management contracts, healthcare services agreements and direct lease arrangements in dense catchment areas in key clusters like Delhi NCR to further expand its presence in select micro markets.
The company plans to add approximately 1800 capacity beds over the next four to five years in brownfield expansion plans to meet increasing demand for advanced healthcare in India.
Over this period, it expects its consolidated business to achieve revenue growth in line with the market.
Factoring an expanded bed base and potential for higher operating leverage coupled with a robust medical program mix, Operating EBITDA margins are expected to gradually improve to mid-twenties in the next few years, Fortis added.
