Pune: Three people, including a woman, allegedly put glue into the mouth of a nine-month-old boy at his Kalwad Vasti house in Lohegaon around noon on July 31 after he cried during an ongoing argument over a family property dispute.The boy’s father (39), a casual worker, lodged a complaint on Monday evening. The Lohegaon police have registered a case of voluntarily causing hurt to the boy.Senior inspector Manisha Patil said, “The suspects, from Kalyan and Thane, are close relatives of the complainant. They came to Pune on July 31 to settle an old dispute related to property and other issues. The complainant left for work after an initial meeting with his relatives. His wife and other family members remained at home. The argument continued in the absence of the complainant.”She said, “When the baby boy started crying, the woman suspect got up from her chair and went to him. Without saying anything, she opened a bottle of superglue and put it into the child’s mouth. The boy’s tongue and palate got stuck because of the glue. He was later taken to a hospital, where doctors helped remove the glue from his mouth. He was discharged after treatment.”Patil said, “We have served notices to the three suspects. They are all casual workers.”
