Chandrajit MukerjeeRanchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday directed the state govt to inform what action has been taken against senior police officials posted in Bokaro for not being able to make a breakthrough in the recovery of a girl lmissing since July 2025. The court was hearing a petition filed by Rekha Devi, the mother of the victim, who had registered an FIR in the Pindrajoda Police Station at Bokaro. The court was informed that 28 police personnel have been suspended in the police station. The high court observed why only subordinate officers should be punished while the senior police officers should be left out. The case will again be heard on Aug 17.Jharkhand high court seeks govt reply on non-implementation of income enhancement projectRanchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday directed the govt to file its response in a public interest litigation for non-implementation of the income enhancement project of the state for the unemployed. The PIL has been filed by Buddha Dev Oraon, who has stated that the income enhancement project of govt was only given to a beneficiary before 2023. The fund for the project since 2023 has not been utilised and returned to the exchequer. The scheme was initiated by govt in 2015, but has not been properly implemented in the state, the petitioner said. The case will again be heard on Oct 1.Jharkhand HC stays attachment proceedings against Ranchi homebuyer’s propertyRanchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday clamped a stay on certificate proceedings initiated by the district certificate officer, Ranchi, to attach a property in Gautam Green City Complex in the state capital. The petitioner, Sudhir Kumar Mishra, had challenged the notice issued by the certificate officer on behalf of Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) for attaching his property. Mishra had purchased the property from Gautam Construction and Developers Private Limited on Dec 16, 2022. Subsequently, the construction company which had taken a loan from HUDCO could not pay back after which proceedings were initiated against it before Debts Recovery Tribunal. The construction company had pledged before the tribunal that it would sell a portion of its property in Gautam Green City to pay HUDCO. Despite having sold the property, the money could not be paid to HUDCO for which certificate proceedings were initiated against the construction to attach its property. Mishra’s property was pledged by the construction company without his information and consent for which certificate proceedings were initiated.
