Srinagar , 03 August : Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was suspended on Monday evening after heavy rainfall triggered slush near Dawal Bridge in Udhampur district, making the road unsafe for vehicles.
The highway has been restricted to a single carriageway at the Dawal slide point in the Samroli area due to muddy and slippery conditions. Officials said
NHAI teams, machinery, and Traffic Police personnel have been deployed to clear the affected stretch and restore movement. Commuters have been advised to avoid travelling on NH-44 until the road is declared safe and to rely only on official traffic updates.
