Virar: The body of an unidentified woman was found washed ashore at Arnala beach near Virar on Sunday morning, prompting police to launch an investigation into the cause of her death.According to the police, the woman is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, and her identity is yet to be established. After conducting an inquest, the body was sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police said the exact cause of death remains unknown and all possible angles, including murder, suicide and accidental drowning, are being investigated. Officials said the post-mortem report is expected to provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.An accidental death case has been registered at the Arnala Sagari Police Station, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased.As part of the investigation, police are verifying records of missing women from nearby police stations and have also shared details with police units in neighbouring districts.
