Surat: A 24-year-old woman alleged that she was forced into prostitution, raped repeatedly, and threatened with dire consequences if she approached the police.Based on her complaint, Utran police registered a case against the eight people under BNS for rape and criminal intimidation, as well as under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.According to the FIR, the woman was sexually exploited for nearly a year after leaving her parents’ home and moving in with her cousin and an acquaintance. She claimed the duo coerced her into prostitution and later took her to the residence of two other accused, who allegedly operated a prostitution racket.The complainant alleged that the accused acted in conspiracy and sent her to different locations where she was sexually exploited. She told police that whenever she refused to comply, she was threatened and intimidated. She further alleged that she was raped and at multiple locations, including Puna, Bhestan, Udhna, Sachin, Pandesara, and Sayan.According to the complaint, the woman managed to escape from the alleged racket a few days ago and reached Udhna railway station, where she met another woman who provided her shelter and helped her approach the police.
