Vadodara: The faculty of arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) continued academic activities through online classes on Friday, even as the university remained closed following a red alert issued due to wet weather conditions.More than 2,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students attended classes conducted as per the approved timetable. Online sessions covered all four years of the BA programme, including major, minor, multidisciplinary, ability enhancement, skill enhancement, value-added and core courses, along with first and second year MA classes.Faculty members conducted lectures via Google Meet, with meeting links shared through official WhatsApp groups. The faculty dean instructed teachers to maintain attendance records and preserve screenshots, meeting reports and recordings of every session for documentation.To streamline communication and monitoring, departments were directed to create separate WhatsApp groups for each subject, including enrolled students and the respective head of department.The faculty of arts said the initiative ensured uninterrupted teaching despite the weather-related campus closure. With the university shutdown extended to Saturday, all scheduled BA and MA classes will continue online according to the regular timetable.
