New Delhi: A 37-year-old property dealer was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala Thursday night. Police suspect it to be a revenge killing linked to old gang rivalries.The deceased, identified as Harish, a resident of Karala village was attacked around 11pm near his residence when he was returning from his office. According to police, at least four bullets hit him before the attackers escaped.Police rushed to the spot after Harish’s brother alerted them, shifted the body to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A murder case was registered at Kanjhawala police station.Harish was involved in at least three cases, including those related to attempted murder and violations under the Arms Act, police said.Preliminary probe revealed that the murder was the result of longstanding gang rivalry in the area. Harish was allegedly associated with Manjeet, an absconding member of Gogi gang who is wanted in a murder case. The suspected assailants are suspected to have links with the rival Tillu Tajpuria gang.According to sources, the brother of one of the suspects was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted following a dispute, with Harish’s possible involvement.
