Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Wednesday laid the foundation stone for educational infrastructure projects worth Rs 691 crore, aimed at enhancing the learning environment in the state.Additionally, a direct benefit transfer of Rs 250 crore was also done to give free uniforms to over 40 lakh students in Classes 1 to 8.On Guru Purnima Wednesday, he also launched a reading promotion campaign under ‘Mission Padho Rajasthan’, released the ‘Nipun’ calendar, distributed tablets to visually impaired students, and honoured teachers.The Nipun calendar has activities assigned to be conducted in schools to ensure greater participation between parents and schools, and to keep parents informed about the students’ academic activities throughout the year.Addressing a programme in Kherli-Gurjar, Sharma said, “During Congress rule, dress material for uniform was given, but we have directly transferred amount for uniforms to 40 lakh students from Class 1-8, so that students can buy uniforms according to their requirements and there will be no irregularities in the initiative.”During the event, Sharma inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development works worth a total of Rs 1,186 crore across Bharatpur and Deeg districts.“Our govt does not just make announcements but ensures that the projects get completed in a time-bound manner…Our govt had said that 4 lakh youth will be given jobs, 1.78 lakh appointment letters have been issued and 1.3 lakh jobs are under process and 70,000 more vacancies have been announced,” said the chief minister.Earlier, the CM performed the ground-breaking ceremony for a girls’ Sainik School in Khedli Gurjar in Bharatpur district and planted saplings.
