Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed UP Gau Seva Ayog to coordinate with departments concerned to prepare an action plan for bovine conservation, setting up of model cow shelters, biogas-based model villages and promoting cow-based natural farming.At a review meeting, the CM directed the commission to carry out regular inspections of the state’s cow shelters and ensure that the animals are provided with fodder, drinking water, medical care and other necessary facilities.The CM said cow shelters should be made self-reliant by linking it with bovine conservation, cow-based natural farming, organic manure, clean energy and rural livelihoods.“Special attention should be paid to getting effective results from biogas plants. For this, regular monitoring of established biogas plants, strengthening technical efficiency and operational arrangements and ensuring effective use of cow dung, energy production and better management of organic resources should be ensured,” he said.During the meeting, Professor VK Vijay of IIT Delhi and his team presented their suggestions on dung-based biogas, organic fertilisers, and cow-based technologies. Discussions were also held on the possibilities of developing cow shelters as centres of energy and organic resource production.
