Nagpur: The district administration has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in Nagpur city and adjoining talukas on Wednesday in view of an orange alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rain.The order, issued by the District Disaster Management Authority headed by the district collector, also applies to anganwadis and coaching classes.Nagpur University, too, declared a holiday on July 29 for students of its affiliated and constituent colleges. However, administrative and academic departments will function as usual, as the holiday does not apply to teaching and non-teaching staff.The university also advised principals of colleges in Wardha, Bhandara and Gondia districts to follow orders issued by their respective district collectors.
