Indore: The long-awaited recruitment drive for regular faculty positions at Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) has received a strong response, with more than 800 candidates applying for 64 teaching posts across various engineering disciplines.
The institute had invited applications between May and June to fill vacant regular faculty positions in departments, including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and others. According to officials, civil and mechanical engineering departments received the highest number of applications among all branches.
Officials said the applications received are currently being scrutinised. The screening process includes verification of candidates’ educational qualifications, teaching experience, research publications and other eligibility requirements prescribed for the posts.
After completion of document verification and shortlisting, interviews and further selection procedures will be conducted. The institute is preparing to begin interviews from Sept.
The recruitment process comes after several departments at SGSITS had been functioning with a shortage of regular teachers, The process is expected to provide relief to departments that have been relying on guest faculty and temporary arrangements due to vacant regular positions.
SGSITS officials said filling the posts will help maintain a better faculty-student ratio, support research activities and ensure smoother academic functioning. The appointments are also expected to strengthen the institute’s preparations for future academic requirements and accreditation-related evaluations.
The institute, one of the prominent engineering institutions in Madhya Pradesh, has been working towards expanding its academic activities under changing higher education requirements.
