Hyderabad: During the convocation ceremony held by BITS Pilani, Hyderabad on Sunday, more than 1,500 degrees, including 200 higher degree programmes and over 100 PhD degrees were conferred on students.Speaking during the event, Hari Menon, co-founder of Big Basket, said, “Build your careers on a strong foundation of integrity, hard work, empathy, and humility,” and emphasised that while knowledge provides direction, experience shapes true learning.He encouraged students to embrace challenges and value meaningful relationships. “Remember that lasting success is built on character, continuous learning, and the courage to grow from mistakes,” added Menon.“Remain lifelong learners, embrace challenges with confidence, and contribute to building a more equitable, sustainable, and technologically advanced future,” said Dharmarajan Sriram, director in charge, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus, while addressing the graduating class.Fahma Khadeeja, master’s in Civil Engineering – Transportation Engineering, Kota Rohith, ME in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Kasala Nidheesh, ME in Microelectronics, were awarded gold medals, while Harichithra C, ME in Civil Engineering – Structural Engineering, was awarded the silver medal.In addition, the institute honoured excellence in doctoral research across broad disciplinary areas through the Best Outstanding PhD Thesis awards. The awardees included Velmurugan K (Sciences), Ronanki Suresh, and Shovon Sengupta.
