Gandhinagar: Industrial projects worth Rs 2,999 crore were approved by state govt under the Industrial Policy 2015 on Monday. The projects were approved at a meeting chaired by deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi in Gandhinagar.An official statement said that the policy has so far attracted investments worth Rs 1,48,366 crore and has generated direct employment of 1.65 lakh jobs. Under the policy, eligible industries established in the state get net SGST refunds or assistance.Approval was granted to 32 industrial projects, the statement said, adding that Rs 528.49 crore in the automobile, metal, cement, and concrete sectors were approved in Ahmedabad district. In Kutch, projects worth Rs 332.71 crore were approved in the metal sector.The statement highlighted multi-district investments, including metal sector projects in Gandhinagar (Rs 35.4 crore) and Bharuch (Rs 12.3 crore). Combined plastic and metal projects in Mehsana received Rs 301.2 crore, while Morbi district bagged Rs 480.2 crore spanning ceramic, chemical, paper, and plastic industries.According to the statement, project approvals included Rs 102.9 crore for the chemical sector in Vadodara, Rs 110.4 crore for ceramics in Sabarkantha, and Rs 74.5 crore across the textile, pharmaceutical, and metal sectors in Surat.
