Prayagraj: Making the Sangam city proud, Sudhanshu Srivastava, has been appointed vice-president of the Differently Abled Cricket Control Board of India (DCCBI). His appointment is being seen as a recognition of his long-standing contribution to sports management, social development and the promotion of sports culture from Prayagraj to the state and national levels.The DCCBI, while announcing his appointment in New Delhi on Sunday, expressed confidence that Srivastava’s experience and leadership would provide fresh momentum to the growth of differently abled cricket in the country. In his new role, he will work towards expanding the sport, strengthening player training programmes, organising competitive tournaments and creating better opportunities for emerging differently abled cricketers.He will also contribute towards enhancing the national and international profile of Indian differently abled cricket and promoting a more inclusive sporting culture.Srivastava currently serves as vice-president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM), Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and has earlier served as chairman of its Sports Committee. A resident of Georgetown, Srivastava has remained actively associated with social, literary, cultural and spiritual activities and has received honours and awards from several organisations for his social contributions.He has also served as vice-president (administration) of the Kayastha Pathshala Trust and is the national president of Chitransh Shakti.Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Srivastava said it was an honour and privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility. He said his endeavour would be to ensure that every differently abled cricketer receives equal opportunities, quality training and an appropriate platform to showcase their talent.
