Lucknow: Hardoi police solved the murder of a 22-year-old man whose body was found on the roadside in the district earlier this week and claimed that the victim was strangled by his girlfriend’s father after he entered her house late in the night to meet her.The man left his home on Tuesday night after telling his family members he was going to the market.The next morning, his body was found on the Daulatpur-Tumurki road. The post-mortem report confirmed that he had been murdered.Station house officer Veer Bahadur Singh said the investigation revealed that the man was in a relationship with a woman of the same village.Police said the woman’s father had repeatedly objected to the relationship, but the two continued to remain in contact.On Tuesday night, when the man reached his girlfriend’s house through the rooftop after receiving a return call from the phone number of his girlfriend.Police said the woman’s father caught him near the staircase and pushed him due to which he suffered a head injury. Later, the woman’s father strangled him with a towel.Later, the accused dumped the man’s body near Daulatpur-Tumurki road.The accused was arrested and produced before the court which sent him to judicial custody.
