Jaipur: A day after Rajasthan Police launched the e-Zero FIR system for financial cyber frauds, 472 e-Zero FIRs were registered by Friday evening.Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime) VK Singh said the registration of 472 e-Zero FIRs by Friday evening reflected the system’s immediate impact. “The mechanism is designed to provide prompt legal relief to cyber fraud victims and expedite action against offenders by automatically registering FIRs in eligible cases,” he said.Police announced Thursday that victims of cyber fraud involving Rs 1 lakh or more would have an e-Zero FIR registered automatically immediately after reporting the crime. The state lowered the threshold from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1 lakh to enable faster legal action.The revised system came into effect across the state Thursday following orders issued by Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma.The initiative integrates the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS). Complaints lodged through the 1930 cyber helpline are now routed directly to the jurisdictional police station, reducing procedural delays and enabling investigators to initiate legal action immediately.Police said the new mechanism is expected to improve the chances of freezing fraudulently transferred funds and recovering money lost in cyber fraud.Officials urged the public to report cyber financial fraud immediately through the 1930 helpline, saying prompt reporting substantially increases the likelihood of freezing transactions and recovering the defrauded amount.
