Nagpur: A 22-year-old aviation sector employee from Wathoda was allegedly duped of Rs3.26 lakh by an unidentified accused who promised him a lucrative cabin crew position with an international airline.On December 23 last year, the accused, identified as Jahgir Khan, called Suryam Thaokar and enquired about his current job. When Thaokar mentioned working with an airline, the accused claimed he could secure a better opportunity abroad. He sent an advertisement via email, which the complainant found convincing.Trusting the offer, Thaokar paid Rs3.26 lakh in instalments to the accused. However, after receiving the money, the accused stopped responding to his phone calls, police said.Based on the complaint lodged at Wathoda police station, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for cheating and fraud. Investigation is underway to trace the accused.
