Patna: The Indian Institute of Business Management (IIBM), Patna, hosted a special lecture on overseas education opportunities, featuring noted academician Prof Charles Hankla of Georgia State University, USA. Held at the Anand Shastri Auditorium, the session drew enthusiastic participation from BBA and MBA students and faculty members.Welcoming the guest, Prof Rohit Singh, Group Director of IIBM Group of Institutions, highlighted Prof Hankla’s work on World Bank-funded public finance projects in Mozambique and Bihar.Interacting with students, Prof Hankla discussed the benefits of pursuing higher education abroad and the career prospects it offers. Drawing on his two-decade association with India through research visits, he answered queries on studying in the US. He emphasised that high tuition fees should not deter aspirants, noting that scholarships and financial aid significantly reduce costs for many international students. He also shared practical tips on identifying funding opportunities and strengthening applications.Prof Hankla was accompanied by Utsav Kumar Singh of Georgia State University. Prof Dilawez Hoda, an IIT Delhi and Wharton alumnus and guest of honour, encouraged students to develop globally relevant skills.Birth anniversary of Tilak, Azad at AN CollegePatna: The department of History at AN College celebrated the birth anniversaries of freedom fighters Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chandrashekhar Azad on Thursday. Faculty members and students discussed the leaders’ sacrifices and contributions to India’s freedom movement during the programme, chaired by Sanjeet Lal, head of the department.Students staged a short play depicting the life and legacy of Chandrashekhar Azad. The event was organised under the guidance of Principal Prof Ratna Amrit, who encouraged initiatives that connect students with historical personalities and events. She also urged students to showcase such performances on larger platforms in the future.
