Lucknow: Rae Bareli police has arrested a man and two women for the abduction and alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl who was taken from the District Hospital, where she had been staying to care for her ailing brother.Police said the case is linked to the Harchandpur area. The victim’s grandmother, 65, told investigators that her grandson was admitted to the District Hospital and the girl had been living on the premises to attend to him. On Sunday evening, two women known to the family allegedly lured the teenager out of the hospital campus and abducted her.After the family failed to locate the girl despite searches, the grandmother filed an FIR at Mill Area police station. Police launched a search operation and rescued the minor on Monday from a house in New Basti, Devanandpur.The arrested accused were identified as Tausif Ahmad alias Guddu, a resident of Jail Mahal locality under Jaidpur police station in Barabanki district; Aarti Singh of New Basti, Devanandpur; and Sevi alias Phooljahan of Bahrana.Mill Area SHO Sanjay Kumar said the victim reported that the two women persuaded her to accompany them, after which Tausif allegedly raped her on the pretext of marriage. All three have been sent to jail.Police said the two women appeared to be habitual offenders who allegedly targeted minor girls known to them, abducting them and pressuring them into unlawful activities. Locals also alleged that suspicious individuals frequently visited the residence of one of the accused women.Police records show Aarti Singh has previously been booked in two cases related to assault and abusive behaviour. Further investigation is ongoing.
