New Delhi: Draft electoral rolls for Arunachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh were published on Tuesday, registering deletion rates of 19% and 12.81%, respectively, from the pre-SIR electoral rolls.
In Arunachal Pradesh, 1.69 lakh of the 8.87 lakh electors have been excluded from the draft roll, primarily due to permanent shifting, untraceability and death. Claims and reinclusion requests can be filed until August 20.
In Chandigarh, 66,147 of the 5,16,427 registered electors were omitted from the draft roll, taking the total deletion rate to 12.81%. The deletions comprised permanently shifted electors (8.47%), absent voters (2.43%), deceased individuals (0.68%), duplicate enrolments (0.50%) and other unaccounted-for cases (0.72%).
