Rourkela: A 56-year-old man is in a critical condition after a tusker attacked him at San Ramchinda village in Jarda forest range in Sundargarh district on Sunday night. The tusker entered the village around 10.45 pm and damaged a portion of Krushna Chandra Kishan’s house. When Kishan came out, the elephant attacked him, leaving him grievously injured.Forest officials rushed him to Gurundia community health centre, from where he was referred to Rourkela Government Hospital. As his condition deteriorated on Monday, he was shifted to a private hospital in Rourkela, where he remains critical. The tusker was reportedly camping in Rushimath forest in the Jarda range, and forest personnel are keeping watch on its movement.
