Udupi: Police have arrested three persons for allegedly possessing and selling narcotic substances, including MDMA powder, hydro ganja and MDMA tablets. Based on credible information, the team conducted a raid at Budnar in Shivalli village, where the accused were found in possession of narcotic substances. It is alleged that they were supplying the drugs to customers in Kaup, Udupi, Manipal and Karkala.The arrested have been identified as Vijay Poojary, 36, from Pitrody, Udyavara village, PA Mohammed Sammas, 24, from Harjiddu, Kukkandur, and Akash Shetty, 20, from Miyar village, Karkala taluk.Police have seized 4g of MDMA powder, 2.5g of hydro ganja, 3.6g of MDMA tablets, 3g of ganja, a car allegedly used for transporting the narcotics and other materials connected to the offence. The total value of the seized property is estimated at Rs 3.3 lakh. A case has been registered at the Udupi Town police station under Sections 8(c), 20(c) and 22(a) of the NDPS Act.The operation was carried out under the supervision of Udupi sub-division DSP Belliappa KU and Malpe police inspector Ramachandra Nayak, with PSI Mahesh TM, with the assistance of personnel from the Cyber Crime police station, Hiriyadka police station, Malpe circle office and Udupi Traffic police.
