Chennai: An autorickshaw driver who went out to consume alcohol with two friends was found dead in a farm well near Kanakammachatram in Tiruvallur district on Wednesday.The deceased was identified as Rajarathinam, 30, of Chinnammapettai near Thiruvalangadu. Police said he had gone to Kanakammachatram on a motorcycle with his friends, Nirmalkumar, 32, and Tamizhan, 31, to consume alcohol.After drinking, Nirmalkumar and Tamizhan returned home, but Rajarathinam did not. Subsequently, his family started searching for him.Meanwhile, Kanakammachatram police received information that a man’s body was floating in an agricultural well owned by Gopi at Muthukondapuram in their jurisdiction. Police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and identified it as Rajarathinam. The body was sent to the Tiruvallur Govt Medical College Hospital for postmortem.Police have registered a case and are investigating whether it was a case of murder or an accident.
