Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University (BGU) has inducted the first batch of its MBA in Business Analytics programme for the 2026-28 academic session, alongside the new cohort of its flagship MBA programme. The university said the two-year MBA in Business Analytics has been co-designed and co-delivered with KPMG India and is the first such programme offered by a university in Eastern India.
The commencement ceremony was attended by Gaurav Sharma, Senior Vice President at SolarSquare, as the chief guest, and Narayanan Ramaswamy, Partner and National Leader, Education & Skill Development, KPMG India, as the guest of honour. They were joined by BGU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Birla School of Management Dean Prof. P. Nayak, Registrar Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak, faculty members and students.
Addressing the students, Ramaswamy emphasised the importance of combining classroom learning with practical experience and encouraged them to embrace technology and remain curious. Sharma urged students to view challenges as opportunities for growth and continuous learning.
The university said students will undergo a 15-day orientation and immersion programme beginning July 17 to familiarise themselves with academic expectations, industry practices and campus life. According to BGU, the new programme has been introduced to equip students with industry-relevant skills through experiential learning and closer engagement with the business ecosystem.
