With the clock ticking down to the release of the highly anticipated trailer launch of ‘Ramayana‘, a new update has left fans buzzing with excitement.The film that will release its first official trailer in a matter of days has already been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to the CBFC certificate, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in lead roles, will reportedly have two trailers instead of just one clip.
‘Ramayana’ to have TWO trailers
As per the certificate, the film’s trailer was granted a ‘U’ (Universal) certificate on July 15, making it suitable for audiences of all age groups ranging from children to adults. Interestingly, the trailer is significantly longer than most other theatrical previews.
‘Ramyana’ trailer runtime revealed
The CBFC website currently lists two versions of the trailer. While one trailer, titled ‘Trailer – Ramayana 3D’, has a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, the other, titled ‘Theatrical Trailer – Ramayana 3D’, runs for exactly 4 minutes. It remains to be seen if the one that releases online will offer fans 15 seconds more footage, or if that will be reserved for viewers to watch it on the big screens.

The upcoming trailers mark the next big promotional asset from the film. The film’s first announcement video was unveiled on July 3, 2025, introducing audiences to the ambitious mythological epic. The makers, on April 2, released the ‘Rama First Look’, coinciding with the festival of Hanuman Jayanti. This character trailer introduced audiences to Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and also teased the introduction of Yash as the antagonist, Ravana. The clip had a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds and also received a ‘U’ certificate from the CBFC.
‘Ramayana’ trailer launch set for July 24
The trailer’s CBFC certification comes just days after the makers announced in a social media post from their official handle, saying, “From Bharat to the world, the Ramayana trailer premieres worldwide on 24th July, 2026.”The team released a statement that read, “For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma, maryada, courage and compassion. Now, it begins a new journey. One of Bharat’s greatest civilisational epics, presented to the world, at a scale never attempted before in Indian cinema.”
‘Ramayana’ cast and release date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.Produced by Namit Malhotra, the epic has music composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. As per reports, the trailer will also screen at Comic Con next week, where the star cast, director and producer are expected to be present for a panel discussion.Planned as a two-part cinematic saga, ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled to release in time for Diwali 2026. Meanwhile, ‘Ramayana: Part 2’, the second instalment in the franchise, is set to arrive on Diwali 2027.
