Times News NetworkKanpur: Ashutosh Gupta won the titles of Under-17 and 19 group in District Table Tennis championship which concluded at indoor hall of Green Park stadium here on Sunday.Besides him, Satyam Giri, Kavi Shah, Muskan Sonkar and Tanya Rana also won the titles of their respective groups.Ashutosh Gupta in the final of U-17 group drubbed Daksh Khandelwal by 11-4, 11-5, 11-8 easily and in the U-19 final he outplayed Srijan Mahajan by 11-9, 11-2, 11-8.Kavi Shah won the girls Under-17 title defeating Preksha Tiwari in a well contested final by 12-10, 12-10 and 13-11. Muskan Sonkar won the title of U-19 grils’ group. In the final, she lost the first two games but returned in the next game and won the remaining two games defeating Kavi Shah by 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9.Satyam Giri humbled Durvank easily in a one-sided final by 11-6, 11-4, 11-5.and won the men’s title. However, the women’s final proved well contested as Tanya Rana trailing two games behind staged a come-back and defeated Suvigya Kushwaha by 12-10, 6-11, 11-8, 13-11.After the finals, chief guest Sanjeev Pathak, president, UP Table Tennis Association, Anil Dixit district president BJP and Shivang Mishra gave away prizes to the winner and runner up players. PN Nigam and ON Gupta were felicitated on this occasion for their significant contribution in the field of sports.The officials of District Association, players and others were present on this occasion.
