New Delhi: Three Indian cobra hatchlings were recently born at Delhi zoo through incubation, said officials Sunday. The National Zoological Park witnessed the successful breeding of cobras after nearly 15 years.“The hatchlings emerged on June 29-30 after a successful incubation period under the careful supervision of the zoo’s veterinary and animal care teams. All hatchlings are active, healthy, and are being maintained in a secure, species-appropriate environment of temperature and humidity with continuous monitoring,” said Delhi zoo.Under Delhi zoo’s internship programme, two interns are working on reptile behaviour and incubation studies. “The zoo continues to work towards conservation, education, and public awareness by promoting scientific understanding of reptiles and encouraging coexistence with these ecologically important animals,” added the statement.
