CHENNAI: Southern Railway has restored eight EMU services on the Chennai Beach–Tambaram–Chengalpet suburban corridor that were earlier scheduled to be cancelled on Sunday following a revision in the timing of engineering work.Railways said the line and power block in the Chennai Egmore–Villupuram section between Chennai Beach and Tambaram has been rescheduled from 11am to 3pm on July 12. As a result, eight EMU services, which were notified for full cancellation earlier, will now operate as per their normal schedule.The restored services include Chennai Beach–Tambaram trains departing at 10.30am, 3.15pm and 3.45pm, Chennai Beach–Chengalpet services leaving at 10.45am, Chengalpet–Chennai Beach services departing at 9.30am and 2.25pm, and Tambaram–Chennai Beach services leaving at 10.45am and 3.30pm.Southern Railway, however, said the remaining EMU services that were announced for cancellation earlier will continue to remain cancelled on Sunday as already notified. Passengers have been advised to take note of the revised operating pattern and plan their journeys accordingly. Southern Railway had earlier announced that 41 trains would be cancelled. Out of the 41 trains, eight has been restored.
