Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra Friday accused the BJP govt of deliberately delaying panchayati raj and urban local body elections, and questioned the credibility of the newly launched Rajdhara app, alleging it could lead to unauthenticated collection of OBC data.Addressing a press briefing at the Pradesh Congress headquarters, Dotasra said the app has two login options — “Govt” and “Citizen” — but the govt login meant for authorised enumerators and booth-level officials has been locked, leaving only the citizen mode active. He alleged that this allows anyone to submit OBC-related information through an OTP-based mobile login, without verification or accountability by govt officials. Such data, he claimed, would have no authenticity, legal validity or official responsibility and could not be used to determine OBC reservation.Dotasra said the state govt constituted the OBC Commission nearly 10 months after coming to power, even as the terms of gram panchayats, panchayat samitis and several urban local bodies had expired. He alleged that the delimitation exercise, expected to be completed in four months, dragged on for 13 months, while the OBC Commission also failed to submit its report within the stipulated three months, with more than 14 months passing.Citing Articles 243E and 243U of the Constitution and Rajasthan High Court directions to hold the elections, Dotasra accused the govt of withholding SC, ST and OBC data from the State Election Commission. He also alleged that the OBC Commission was not given adequate staff, office space or infrastructure to complete its work on time.Dotasra demanded an authenticated survey, finalisation of OBC reservation on the basis of verified data, and immediate announcement of the long-pending panchayati raj and urban local body elections.
