Daltonganj: A day after three police personnel were injured after locals allegedly pelted stones to block acquisition of land for expansion of NH-39 at Chiyanki, Palamu police have invoked Section 8(b) of the National Highways Act against 24 named accused and over 100 unidentified persons for violence and disruption.Nearly a dozen BNS sections, including attempt to murder, assaulting a public servant to deter him from duty, unlawful assembly and wrongful restraint of a public servant, have also been slapped. The FIR was lodged at Sadar police station on July 9.While two of the injured cops were discharged after first aid, JAP jawan Raj Mohan Singh is admitted to MMCH Daltonganj with a head injury. Hospital sources said he is stable.Sadar SDPO, Rajesh Yadav said, “The violence was unprovoked and unacceptable. Our SP has taken serious note of it. No offender of law can get away.”Yadav confirmed 24 named accused but declined to name them.
