Bhubaneswar: The admission process for Plus II in the 2026-27 academic session commenced across the state on Thursday, with thousands of students, accompanied by their parents, queuing up at higher secondary schools — allotted to them — to complete enrolment formalities in the first selection round.Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) had on Wednesday announced the results of the first phase of admissions under Student Academic Management System (SAMS), with allotment of seats to more than 4.29 lakh students. Admissions against the first merit list will continue till July 15.The students selected in the first merit list are required to report to their allotted institutions within the stipulated timeline for document verification and completion of admission procedures.Officials said the admission process was largely smooth on the first day, with help desks set up at many institutions to assist students and address queries related to subject combinations, fee payments and documentation.The second merit list will be released by the DHSE on July 23, followed by admissions from July 24 to July 28. Spot admission will begin from July 30.
