Hyderabad: Arvapally police of Suryapet district booked two suo motu cases against two groups of Congress party supporters after they attacked each other with stones regarding the recently elected Congress party mandal president candidate.According to Nagaram CI D Nageshwar Rao, at around 10.30 am, a group of Congress party supporters under the leadership of Yogananda Chari from Kommala village gathered at Arvapally to go to Hyderabad and meet TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud to present their objections regarding the recent election of Madhusudhan Reddy from Jajireddygudem village as Congress party’s mandal president.As about 50 supporters of Chari gathered at Arvapally, the same number of supporters of Reddy also reached there, and an argument broke out between both the groups.“Members of both the groups started pelting stones at each other. They also damaged windshields of two cars. We had to use mild force to disperse the mob. No one was injured during the stone pelting,” the CI said.“We have registered two suo motu cases, one against each group for rioting, unlawful assembly and damage to property,” the CI said. No arrests were made yet.
